This article provides a summary of all the caption settings and how to change them.
You can change the background behind the captions to either be solid black, or slightly transparent. You might want to make the background transparent so the audience can see what’s behind the captions.
Social Feed Safe
The social feed safe option will change the style of the captions to a square text bubble at the bottom of the video. This ensures captions in portrait videos remain visible when posted on 2:3 cropped social media feeds. By default, this will be turned off. The default cations will appear as a rectangle at the very bottom of the screen. We recommend using the default captions style as it takes up the least amount of screen space.
How to Change Caption Settings
To change the captions settings, tap the video settings icon at the top of the screen.
Scroll down to the bottom of the settings page. The captions settings will be the last category of options. Tap on either solid captions or social feed safe to enable/disable that feature. Once you’re happy with your changes, tap “Done” at the top of the screen to save your settings. Play your video to see the changes to the captions.
